alcohol

If you would have told me that someday I would be clean and sober I would have probably told you to F*** off!

If you would have told me just over ten years ago that someday I would be clean and sober, free from drug and alcohol abuse, I would have laughed at you. If you would have told me as well that my entire life would be changed through the power of Jesus Christ, I would have probably told you to F*** off!

Alcoholic Healed

Standing in a bus station speaking to a few alcoholics when a young Asian man came and asked me who I was. I told him I am a pastor of a small church, he said "So you are a church man?", from his pocket he showed me christian tracts, he said he collected them. I looked at him and what ran through my mind was the word hope.

A few days later I was going to go to my church to do a few things. When I came across the young tract collector, we spoke and I told him that I was going to the church and would he like to come so we could talk more.

Alcoholic Delivered

A man who was in my church was a recovering alcoholic and hadn't had a drink for quite a few years. He told me that he hadn't had a drink but he could taste the drink rum and black, he said he didn't even drink this drink, but it got so bad that he was asking people to smell his breath.

I wasn’t a bad kid. I was shy, and I suppose one could say…cautious. I was part of the ‘in’ group during Primary School, but things changed when I went to boarding school. Suddenly I was in High School, alone and vulnerable and 1000 kilometres from home.

In search of Love - buried secrets

I was raped by my employer

Before knowing Christ I was raised in an abusive home with an alcoholic dad. I was asked to leave my home whenever I was sixteen due to having a friendship with a person of another race. I lived in Tennessee so this wasn't unusual for the one town I lived in. After living on the streets with a friend I linked up with for a year, she was murdered. At that point I tried to get off the streets and went to work at a trucking company for a rock yard in which I was raped by my employer. At this point I called a high school friend and she allowed me to stay with her family for awhile.

I was drinking myself in to total oblivion

I started drinking by the age of 14, I wanted to experiment and by 15 years of age I was drinking myself in to total oblivion, my parents had no control over me.
